Please note: In most cases, GPS directions do not always guide you to Lake Tawakoni’s Holiday Marina. You may want to read the following and compare them to your GPS.
BE SURE TO OBTAIN YOUR TEXAS FISHING LICENSE BEFORE YOU COME. You may purchase only a one-day if necessary. Fishing licenses are available at Walmart or through Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Coming from Fort Worth/Dallas area, take I-20 headed East. Exit Hwy. 2965. Turn left and continue on to Hwy. 80 in Wills Point. Turn right on Hwy. 80 to Hwy. 47 (also 4th St.). Turn left at the light. At the second STOP sign, Hwy. 47 turns to the right (at the Texaco station.) If you need any other snacks or supplies, the Texaco station is your last opportunity. Continue on approximately 8+ miles. The entrance to Holiday Marina will be on your left. (If you get to the dam, you’ve gone too far!) Turn into the marina and Roger will meet you there unless other arrangements have been made.

If you need a place to stay for a night or two, you might like to check out Shoestring Farm, a beautifully decorated bed and breakfast which is as rugged for the fishermen as it is charming for the ladies. http://shoestringfarmbnb.com/ Tell Patty that Capt. Roger sent you! Your stay will include a quiet night’s rest and a great country breakfast at the time you specify. If you will let Roger know you are staying at Shoestring Farm, he will usually join you for breakfast.
